Getting Settled before the Snow Arrives

Greetings once again from the Marketing Department. September is past and October is on its way out.   Getting settled is a big part of the fall. We want to be set before the snow piles up. I for one, want to know that I have a shovel handy and a scraper for my car in the trunk. No surprises when it comes to safety and comfort. I think living here at Copperfield has those qualities. As we moved through September, there were a number of times that I thought about how nice getting settled is. I attended the Robbinsdale Meet and Greet on West Broadway in Robbinsdale. It seemed like the entire town was out, as 60 booths, representing Robbinsdale area businesses and organizations lined the sidewalks of West Broadway. Hundreds of people came to see what was going on in their own back yard. Copperfield Hill was represented well and we had over 200 people stop by our booth. We visited with the many types that make up this rich village they nick name “Birdtown”. Best of all, some of the visitors from that evening later stopped in to see what Copperfield is all about. Some will be getting settled here before the snow starts to fall. On another note, we had a very successful fund raising effort for the Alzheimer’s Association. From bake sales to the Cabaret, we ended up raising close to $3,000. Individuals were very generous with their donations. We want to say THANK YOU. Wrapping up September was our Pig Roast Celebration. We celebrated the people and hard work that enables us to be called one of Aging Services of Minnesota’s Confident Choice Winners. October has been busy too.  We enjoyed a great blue grass concert and social hour here at Copperfield.  Copperfield also participated in the “Later Life Resource Fair”  that was hosted by Holy Name of Jesus Church in Medina.  It was a day to discover the many resources in our local community that are there to make sure seniors have what they need.  We shared our story with many.

Enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Recently, Darrell Farr shared a few thoughts with me about this place we call home. Nowhere else is there a spot that could have such a dramatic change in environment. The fall weather and colors change so quickly and dramatically. Enjoy these beautiful days.
