Meet Our Staff

We are fortunate to have such a talented, driven and enthusiastic team of professionals committed to fulfilling Copperfield Hill’s mission and dedication to serving our residents.


Todd Klein, Executive Director


Todd has a degree in Health Administration from the University of South Dakota and has over 15 years of experience in the senior housing industry. He enjoys being part of the Copperfield Hill family and serving the wonderful residents that call Copperfield Hill home.  Todd truly enjoys striving to make a difference in the lives of our seniors.  On summer weekends you can find Todd and his family out on the boat enjoying one of Minnesota's many lakes. During the winter months Todd enjoys coaching his son's basketball team.


Olivia Caspers, RN, Director of Healthcare

Olivia started out as an RN at Copperfield Hill in 2015 and is excited to expand her involvement as our Director of Healthcare.  She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the College of St. Scholastica and has a wealth of experience working with seniors in various settings. Olivia enjoys working with our residents and their families to ensure that all their needs are met in the warm, safe and secure environment Copperfield Hill provides.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs camping, traveling and enjoying the outdoors.


Mary Ngeru, Manor Assistant Manager


Mary is a long time member of the Copperfield Hill family. She holds a Paralegal degree and has worked in the senior housing industry since 2003. Mary loves all aspects of working with seniors and you can tell she enjoys her job – she always has a smile on her face! Mary is committed to meeting the needs of residents and families and making Copperfield Hill a supportive environment that provides the highest quality of life and service. Mary’s favorite pastime is spending time with her friends and family.


Sherry Schmidt, Director of Sales & Marketing

Sherry is no stranger to Copperfield Hill.  This is her second time in this position!  Sherry was happy to re-join the Copperfield Hill family when she returned to the Twin Cities after living in the Brainerd Lakes area. In her own words, “working with the residents and staff at Copperfield Hill feels like I have come back home.” And the feeling is mutual! Sherry is currently finishing her degree from Bethel University with a major in Christian Ministries and a minor in Organizational Leadership. In her spare time, Sherry enjoys chasing after her two children and attending all their sporting activities. She and her family love nature and enjoy discovering the many hidden gems in Minnesota by camping, hiking and kayaking.


Charlotte Hoes, Community Liaison


Charlotte holds degrees in English and Economics from the University of Arizona. While her current job at Copperfield Hill was her first foray into the senior housing industry, she has a long history of volunteerism, especially working with seniors. Working at Copperfield Hill allows her to keep that connection with seniors while helping to provide information to the surrounding and senior communities about the resources and services Copperfield Hill has to offer. A native of Wyoming, Charlotte now lives in Plymouth with her husband and two sons.


Brian Kesanen, Dining Services Director


Brian is a graduate of the Chef & Management Program at Hibbing Community College. Brian had over 35 years of experience in the food service industry under his belt before he set foot in the Copperfield Hill kitchen. He has worked in restaurants, hotels, resorts, colleges, health care facilities and worked for Sholom Community Alliance as Director of Campus Nutritional Services for 10 years. He is passionate about creating and serving delicious, fresh meals to our residents and his goal is to create the best dining experience possible. Brian lives in Rockford with his wife Denise and chocolate lab Molly. They enjoy traveling and spending time at the lake.


Jan Hartsook, Pastor


Pastor Jan has a BA in Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter and a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul.  Pastor Jan taught biology at Cooper High School in New Hope and Chaska High School for 10 years and then served for 29 years as a pastor at First Lutheran in Trimont, Kansas Lake Lutheran in rural Butterfield, and St. Philip's in Fridley.  She greatly enjoys being at Copperfield Hill and working with the caring staff and wonderful residents. Pastor Jan lives in Spring Lake Park with her husband who is also a pastor.  They have three children and TEN grandchildren! Her favorite pastimes include reading, walking, camping and being with family and friends.


Beth Sutton, Recreation & Wellness Director


Beth has a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  She brings over 22 years of experience in the activities, recreation and wellness field to Copperfield!  Beth loves working with seniors and she really appreciates what the staff at Copperfield Hill does for them. Beth lives in Plymouth with her son and their dog.  In her free time you can find her fishing and swimming with her family.


Gayla Olson, Business Office Manager


Gayla has a degree in Business/Accounting from the College of St. Catherine and has enjoyed a 20+ year career as an accountant. Copperfield Hill is the perfect place for Gayla because she loves working with seniors and listening to all of their wonderful stories.  Gayla lives with her dog and husband and in her free time enjoys promoting her favorite charities and working with animals.  She has participated in the rescue of many eagles, hawks and owls with the Raptor Center. 



There are lots of activities and outings for memory care residents that my mother enjoys, but she really lights up when there is live musical entertainment.  She be-bops and dances around and loves to sing along.  She sang in the church choir and I think it brings her back to that moment.
